Adopt a Hero for Christmas 6th Annual Ride to BAMC - 2011 Join us for an unforgettable Christmas adventure Saturday December 17, 2011 at la Madeleine  23322 Mercantile Pkwy, Katy TX 77449 (Grand Parkway just North of I-10) Registration 6:30AM - Meeting 7:15AM We will deliver the Christmas gifts we have collected to our wounded  soldiers and their families at The Brooke Army Medical Center  (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas and visit with them. We will travel on I-10 from Katy to Luling for a fuel stop at Buc-ee's at mile  marker 632. Then on to our San Antonio staging area at the Guadalupe  County Westbound Rest Stop on I-10 at mile marker 619. This rest stop  will serve as the staging area for all non-Houston participants  (Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, etc.). Our non-Houston participants  should arrive that this rest stop by 10:00AM to register. We will depart as a  single group and arrive at Ft. Sam Houston about 12:00 Noon.   We are providing lunch for our participants, and for our Heroes and their  Families at the Warrior and Family Support Center. The fine folks of the  West Conroe Baptist Church cook team have a terrific meal planned for us! This effort is funded by a $20 Registration fee for our  adult participants, children under 18 are free. People will return on their own, whenever they wish to depart.  Click here for a PDF flyer of this event Important protocol for entering a military base:  All Participants: No Firearms OR WEAPONS, it is a felony to enter a military  base with a firearm. If you are stopped at the gate or on base  you must produce a current license and insurance card. Motorcycle Rider and Passenger must each have: DOT Approved helmet Eye protection Long sleeve jacket or shirt Full finger gloves Over the ankle boots You must RSVP if you plan to attend   Let us know if you wish to carpool, many folks are asking about doing so This is an event not to miss, folks. Bringing the Joy of Christmas to our Heroes  and their Families is a special honor and a privilege. We have discovered that often  times our participants end up themselves receiving something very precious.
